Last week we wrote about the top 7 Halloween costumes to expect in 2017. Did your favourite series make the list? We predicted Star Wars, Justice League and various Marvel characters to make a heroic splash this year as popular superhero Halloween costumes.
But that’s definitely not all there is to it this year!
This year is so jam-packed full of awesome superhero movies, that we’re taking a closer look at superhero Halloween costume trends in 2017. Here’s what you can expect!
Thor Costumes
The movie is called Thor: Ragnarok but it may as well be called Thor And Friends. Expect to see a lot of Thor AND a lot of Hulk costumes this year!
Mark Ruffalo (who plays The Hulk) was quoted to say that his character plays a major part in the movie:
“You’ll see a lot more Hulk in…[Thor: Ragnarok]…The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger.” – Ruffalo
We can’t be certain what this means for The Hulk, but we know this: Thor and Hulk get to be the ultimate bro-costumes this Halloween. Imagine fighting crime and going to Halloween parties as the strongest superhero duo in Marvel history!
Going trick-or-treating with friends is will be easy with costumes from the Marvel universe, since everyone fights together in a team at some point. Even if you’re a lone wolf, there’s a costume for you.
Logan (Wolverine) Costumes
You can’t expect a superhero Halloween party without the famous lone wolf, Wolverine. Our favourite berserker is back!
Wolverine stars in the hotly anticipated movie, Logan, where he meets with his younger, female-cloned counterpart: Laura Kinney (X-23).
This movie is going to spawn the cutest father-daughter costume, with the new X-23 costumes that are hitting our shelves this Halloween. With clawed costumes available for both guys and girls, we’re bound to see more berserker duos this year!
Daredevil Costumes
Daredevil goes to show that movies don’t steal all of the spotlight.
The Daredevil series on Netflix is just one of many awesome superhero series to top off our watch list, along with Arrow and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The new costume hits stores this year for the first time, as Daredevil runs on Netflix for season 2! Get ready for a hot new red costume with crazy cool aesthetics.
With a 98% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, expect to see a lot more of your favourite lawyer-and-vigilante.
But while we’re discussing Daredevil – we should definitely talk about Jessica Jones, the private investigator. Or Luke Cage – the man of super strength and unbreakable skin.
You know what? Netflix superhero shows are awesome.
In fact, the whole Netflix superhero genre has given us the ability to turn almost anyone into their favourite superhero – which is especially awesome if you’re planning to go trick-or-treating as a group this Halloween #squadgoals.

Whether you’re planning to hit the block as a souped-up Wolverine, or tag-teaming your annual Halloween party as Thor with a friend as Hulk, this year’s new superhero movies and series are bound to give you some great ideas for group Halloween costumes. Wouldn’t you agree?
